Chavez totals vehicle in Austin wreck
State Rep. Norma Chavez, D-El Paso, totaled a rental vehicle and sustained minor injuries Monday night on icy roads in Austin.
Chavez said she was driving north on Interstate 35 in a rented four-door Dodge Ram Charger when she hit a patch of ice, and the truck began spinning out of control.
The truck, she said, was stopped by the concrete median in the middle of the freeway after coming within a few feet of an 18-wheeler.
She and a passenger, Luis Ruiz, 24, of northeast El Paso, received cuts and bruises but no major injuries, Chavez said.
"It was horrible, really horrible," she said. "When we were spinning, I didn’t know if we were going to make it."
"She and a passenger"????
Has Rep. Chavez found a boyfriend? An artist no less? How much older is Norma than her boytoy?

That's why I flew back home from El Paso on Sunday. Norma waited till the very last minute, and the result was not good. Typical El Paso mentality, always waiting till manana to get things done....

Didn't know so many people read Brandi's Blog. From her blog, it went to the news and callers, emails, text messages all poured in. To Glenn, with the two "n"s, maybe you are a norma-hater from Austin. If you were from El Paso, you wouldn't call yourself a "manana" mentality person because El Pasoans ROCK!To Where's Molina, my passenger is a young hard working Democratic Precinct Chairman. We both prayed and thanked God for our lives and each other.
